Seeing differently, acting differently – it’s all about worship (Daniel 3)

We’re looking through the book of Daniel at the moment, a short book from the Old Testament, written at a time that the Jewish people were taken forcibly from their homes, and deals with the big questions for people in exile:

  • How do you act, when you can’t act the way that you used to act?
  • How do you worship, when you can’t worship the way that you used to?
  • How do you live, in a culture that has different rules?

One of the ways that the book of Daniel works is to try & help people who don’t feel like they don’t quite belong to the culture around them, know what it means to be a believer in God and a follower of His ways, and for us as Christians to be a follower of Jesus.

This week we had a look at the story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who were thrown into a furnace for not obeying the king, and how this story relates to us today.
