Who are we?
The Vine Community Hub was set up by Salford Elim Church in 2021 partly in response to the Covid-19 pandemic and its negative effects, transitioning from the cafe which we ran in the same premises for ten years.
We are a small team of local volunteers who care about the people of our area.
What do we do?
We offer a range of holistic support and activities aimed at reducing isolation, improving well-being and building community.
Listening and Support Service
Need a listening ear? Not sure where to turn? Overwhelmed by life? Can’t make sense of things?
Our Listening and Support Service is here to help you speak about the issues impacting your life such as finance, employment, parenting or relationships. We are not experts but are trained listeners and may be able to help you make sense of information you’ve been given and/or signpost you to relevant specialist support.
No need for an appointment, just pop in – the kettle is always on! (Times tbc)
Community Counselling Service
Led by a fully qualified counsellor who is a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), we offer free counselling sessions; either face-to-face, via Zoom or by telephone. We are experienced in dealing with a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, bereavement, low self-esteem, anger, work-related stress, abuse and relationship issues. To make an appointment, pop in or fill out our online form.
Do you need some practical help but don’t have the money to pay a professional trades person for labour costs?
Maybe your garden needs clearing, you need something fixing or moving but haven’t got the physical ability to do it?
We are not experts but we will give most things a go! As a small team of volunteers, we can’t promise to be able to help but if we can, we will (you just pay for any material costs).
To discuss your practical needs, pop in for a chat or email email@example.com
Tired of eating alone? Want to meet new people and build relationships? Join us any week day from 12-1pm for a simple meal and some company. Meals are free of charge but donations are gratefully received.
Live music, competition and general merriment. Every Wednesday 10.30-11.30am (tbc)
We meet weekly to be creative and enjoy good company. You don’t need to be skilled but you might find you are more creative than you thought! We occasionally arrange day trips out and support one another whenever we can.
Every Tuesday from 1-2.30pm (tbc)
Prayer Drop In
There are some things that can only be dealt with by God; the one who created us, loves us and longs to be involved in our lives. We would love to pray for you for healing (both emotional and physical), for direction, for wisdom, for peace, anything really! You don’t need to be ‘religious’, just pop in. (Times tbc)
Have you ever wondered if there was more to life than this? Have you ever asked questions such as ‘how did we get here?’, ‘why is there so much suffering in the world?’ or ‘is there hope beyond death’?
Why not explore these questions and more with us in a relaxed and non-judgmental environment? (Times tbc)
Life can be hurried, hassled and stressful. There is so much negativity and bad news competing for our attention.
Why not take some time out to slow down and meditate on the goodness and truth of God? (Times tbc)
Do you feel tired, empty or anxious? Are you ‘running on empty? Why not explore your holistic wellness with others and together we can help one another recover physically, emotionally, financially, spiritually, relationally and vocationally. (Times tbc)
Evenings of live music, friendly competition and laughter. Feel free to bring a bottle, bring some friends or just come on your own and meet others.
If you are a musician or a singer, there will be opportunities to show off your talents! (Times tbc)
