Mentoring: The Promise of Relational Leadership

Mentoring is one of the concepts that has often been bandied around, but probably talked about more than practised. Wright explains how mentors focus on helping us become who we want to be, not what we want to do. Being a mentor is someone who is given the responsibility to help to develop someone else’s life, to help someone make the best of their gifts and opportunities.

This is a really useful book for all those wanting to develop the skills of being a mentor and also for those keen to find someone who will guide them but not exactly sure of what they are looking for.

Each chapter examines aspects of the relationship and ends with questions to reflect on. It is a book that could be read in a couple of hours or could be worked through slowly and be one of the books that helps you build your life on solid foundations.

In a Christian context, mentoring is part of the path of discipleship. We need mentors if we have real intentions of growing as Christians. This walk is one that you need companions to accompany you. For those of you working in business or education, mentoring is becoming increasingly popular. This book will help you do so from a firm Christian base.
