Community Care
Charles House
We have a number of ministries supporting people whose lives have had difficulties. A team from the church go to Charles House, a medium secure unit. We visit the men in the home, offering emotional and spiritual support, and run a small Bible study there.
Greater Manchester Community Chaplaincy
The idea of supporting offenders on release from prison under the name of Community Chaplaincy came to England from Canada, where for over 25 years it has been a successful way of supporting men and women when released from prison.
The success of the scheme is the co-operation between a faith-based organisation, Greater Manchester Community Chaplaincy, and the statutory agencies, prison, police and probation.
We need volunteers who will “walk alongside” men and women who are resettling back into the community on their release from prison. For more information, visit their website.
