Duchy Housegroup and Mission

The housegroup on the Duchy is going well. Its purpose is to enable the members of our church who live there, or anyone on the estate who wants to explore the Christian faith, to encounter God in their every-day life. Having held a summer fun day and Christmas Alive on the Duchy, the next step is to do something for Easter. Our plan is to door-knock there, give out Easter eggs, and invite people for hot cross buns and drinks at The Vine Cafe on Good Friday.

Please could you buy some Cadburys cream eggs for us to distribute, and bring them to church? You might even want to join us as we give them away?

Please pray the housegroup there continues to empower the Christians on the Duchy to live God-filled lives, that the Easter egg give away is well received, and people not only attend The Vine Cafe on Good Friday, but turn to Jesus as well.

The Church is on the Move

On 30 March we will not have a service in our church.  We will be joining Langworthy Community Church in their service, which begins at 12.30pm.  We are in partnership with this church, and we have agreed that we will joining with them twice this year (March and November) to worship in their place, which is:

Willow Tree Primary School
2 Greenland St
Salford M6 5TJ

Do come and encourage them, as they do each month when they worship with us.

Sermon Theme

During March and April, the sermons will be based around the theme of Faith.  We will concentrate on passages in the Gospel of Mark.  We believe in a God who has not left us without hope or access to his help.  We believe in a God who does engage with ordinary people in everyday situations.

We hope that the sermons will be encouraging and cause us to ask God for more, expect more from him, and believe that more can happen than we ever might have expected.

New service

From May onwards, there will be a new service.  This will be on the first Sunday of every month, starting at 9.30am.  It will be shorter, simpler, and more reflective than our usual Sunday morning services.  The first one will be on 4 May.  You might want to come to this and then stay to All Age worship at 10.30.
