Children and Youth

For the youngest members of our church family (up to the age of 18 months), we have space at the back of the church for parents to take their babies to at any point during the service.

We also have a creche in the hall for those over 18 months up to Reception age. Here volunteers set up the toys, lead the children in some action songs and tell them a Bible story.  Parents are welcome to leave their children in creche or stay until everyone feels comfortable.

For children in Reception up to college age, our team of volunteers lead a 4-week rolling programme. Each week is slightly different, but all have a focus on creating a fun and friendly atmosphere where the children can develop their knowledge and understanding of what it means to follow Jesus.

The programme looks like this:

Week 1: Fun and Games for Reception – Year 13 (Year 9+ meet at The Vine)

Week 2: Mini Youth Service. Songs, games, Bible teaching and activities for Reception – Year 13

Week 3: Age-appropriate Bible teaching and activities for Reception – Year 8

Week 4: Mini Youth Service. Songs, games, Bible teaching and activities for Reception – Year 13

For the whole family, we have monthly events that everyone is welcome to join us for. These generally take place on a Saturday afternoon and can be anything from a walk around a country park to watching a movie.

See our calendar for dates/details, or contact Morag for more information.

Morag Peacock
Children's & Youth Coordinator

I've been a part of Elim for several years now, joining when Ian became the Worship Coordinator. It wasn't long before I got involved in kids work, and then became the Children's and Youth worker. Outside of kids work and church my time is spent being a mother, housewife and doing the odd acting job.
