Seeking justice for asylum seekers

Seeking justice for asylum seekers

Following on from our series in Micah, we have received some photos of Waheed (an asylum seeker who used to come to our church) taking part in a peaceful protest in Birmingham. It is a reminder that the ‘problem’ of asylum seekers in the UK actually involves real individuals, with real stories, facing real hardship.

As Marijke said on Sunday, ‘doing justice’ and standing up for the rights of the oppressed and poor is not some add on to the gospel message. It is right at the centre of God’s commands for his people to make a difference in the world.

Do remember Waheed, one among thousands in our country, in your prayers. Also, pray for the government as they have the power to give or withhold justice to those who seek refuge in the UK.
